World War II era, featuring a C-clasp with a T-bar hinge, a design element commonly associated with the late 19th to Early/Mid 20th century. C-clasp pinback closure is a distinctive feature of vintage craftsmanship.

The 127th Wing is part of the Michigan Air National Guard, based at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. This composite wing operates both A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft for close-air support missions and KC-135 Stratotankers for aerial refueling.

The wing has a rich history, dating back to its activation in 1950. Initially, it was involved in pilot training during the Korean War and later transitioned to various roles, including tactical reconnaissance and nuclear testing. The wing has also been activated for domestic emergencies, such as the Detroit riots in 1967.
