This product is brand new and has never been opened. --- Mfgr Information: With Fox&Summit gone out of business, Wi-Fi is no longer an option unless you know a firmware it could move over to. I do not know of one at this time.
Alerts are local and audible through the built-in chime to alert you when you are home. Could be used in the workplace as well to alert you to someone coming in or opening a door, window, or other objects within your hearing distance of the audible alarm.
The vibration sensor ran on WiFi, so you did not need to worry about whether you had to purchase a hub or other gateway for it to work. You owned the connection hardware already—it was your WiFi router. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option.
